ABOUT US

We are run by a small friendly team of staff and volunteers. Our main goal is to enable all  Stevenage residents to have the opportunity to put a decent home together. We collect good quality furniture and white electrical goods from donors within the local Stevenage community and pass them on for a handling charge to all local residents but especially to those on a low income or in conditions of need. Your donations have a direct impact on improving the lives of others in your community.

We collect donations from Stevenage and the surrounding villages, Knebworth, Watton, Walken, Datchworth, Aston, Graveley and Little and Great Wymondley. All residents can buy from us but if you are on a benefit/pension you can register  and purchase at a reduced price.  Just bring an upto date benefit letter, bank statement (paper or online) or we can see your online DWP account on your phone.

We accept a range of benefits including Universal Credit,  Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Working Tax Credits, Child Tax Credits, Pension/Pension Credit and Disability Benefits.  Please note that we need to update your registration every six months unless you are receiving a pension.

By encouraging re-use your donations help make a positive impact on your community. Despite our work being disrupted by the pandemic over the past 12 months we have collected over 1000 items supporting over 500 local families.

We rely heavily on the support of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with us click here.
