The sucess of Stevenage Furniture Recycling Scheme is entirely dependent upon its volunteers. Our volunteers are from different backgrounds, ages, skills and abilities and all are valued.
We have volunteering opportunities in a variety of roles including:
Van loaders for collections & deliveries
Customer service to assist customers during the shop opening hours
Administration and Telephone Volunteers.
We offer you the opportunity to gain experience, to develop skills and be part of a team dedicated to helping the community. Our volunteers come from all stages of life, some staring work for the first time and wanting to gain experience, some returning to the workplace after a break and others recently retired. Many of our volunteers have gone on to find full time permanent work due to the experiences and practical skills gained by volunteering with us.
Full training will be given and travel expenses paid within the Stevenage area.

We are also actively recruiting Trustees and Management Support Volunteers to the Scheme. As a Trustee you can help to shape the future of the scheme, all we ask that you commit to a monthly meeting and be willing to assist in the day to day running of the scheme on an occasional baisis. If you have any time or skills to offer either as a regular commitment or on an adhoc basis please contact us.
